SHE IS VIOLET

Art is everywhere, in everything! This is what WE believe in. The love for of all things written and crafted inspired us to create a blog that highlights the pleasure in reading and creating.
This is a blog driven by our passion to:

INSPIRE, MOTIVATE and SHARE.

Inspiration comes from watching ideas come to life, and realizing that anything is possible! What else would prove this than seeing other people and their own creations? Through our entries featuring fellow artists (illustrators, designers, writers, photographers, etc) we would see how they work, how their design process goes, and, what inspires them too!

"The more you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you will go. "
                                                                                                                   -Dr. Seuss

Reading doesn’t have to be boring. We still believe that it is not only a great source of knowledge, but also of adventure!! We now motivate our readers to discover the fun in reading by featuring our recommended books, magazines and other blogs. We also want to encourage people to try out their creative hand by posting easy DIY projects they'd be able to finish with no sweat!

Aaand because we have been inspired AND motivated, we would now like to share our very own project. We have come up with our own products inspired from the different books we have read. We want to remember the stories and characters we've met by allowing them to transcend the pages of our beloved books into real life through the keepsakes we make. Through these we hope to let our readers experience a semblance of our adventures.

Now this is what our blog is about;
Finding inspiration in random things,
being resourceful and creative,
and creating something out of small pieces of nothing.

As she always says "there is always something".

From our favorite books we chose Violet Baudelaire of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. She is the eldest in the family (like the both of us!). and loves her siblings a whole lot. She represents someone who is inquisitive, creative and resourceful. She always manages to get out of unfortunate events through her creations.

We believe that anyone can be like that, if you just tie your hair up
and get your creative brain ticking!

Again, who is Violet?
She is us, and we are her.

Kath and Sab, have been friends since high school.

These two share their love for a LOT of things; from bright, colorful and sparkly things to quirky stuff that others would refer to as junk. Both artistically inclined and graduates of BS Architecture, they share a deep passion for art and design. Give them anything and you bet your marbles they can create something awesome out of it.

Kath is what one would call a mish-mosh of many things. Meeting someone at a young age often leads us to overlook "talents" because moms and friends always say "Oh, She's So Talented". Years swooped by and I am left , still, slack-jawed over how she manages to contain all that creativity, that energy and that many thoughts in such a tiny frame.

At first glance she is pretty hard to take seriously because of how insanely effervescent she is. Even her voice is bubbly. Yes, it's possible. Who knew? But once an idea starts churning in her head, she's pretty unstoppable. With indefatigable gusto, she gets on it and gets it done. Quite simply, and with much concentration and attention to detail at that.

She's cooky, she's nuttier than a fruitcake, but makes perfect sense.
She's a bundle of ideas waiting to spew all over a blank canvas.

She is Violet.

Sab is an anomaly of sorts. You know that feeling. Not where your first impression couldn't be more wrong because she is how she is when you meet her. How does one put it? You meet a person for the first time, you shake their hand, you get into small talk. Sab is the kind you get into small talk without realizing small talk won’t cut it. Her charm draws you in that way and you wont even notice it happening. Then when you hit the right note with her and get her to talk about the things she loves, with a quiet confidence, she will take you in, and again you wont notice it.

It's her love for the "created" worlds that will get you into her own. Though she's not gadget-averse, she prefers to work with her own hands than the computer as she feels the tactile nature of doing so is just more personal. Things with a vintage-y feel fascinate her. She thinks memories from books, are not trends, but are old-fashioned enough to last forever.

She's colorful.
She's infinitely interested and interesting.
She's so complicatedly simple.

She is Violet.
